We love home: our vintage lamp

Herdei este candeeiro da minha madrinha, que se lembra de o comprar no Porto com a mãe, nos anos 70. O abajour era muito grande, o que tornava difícil encostá-lo à parede, e estava bastante amolgado. Agora ganhou uma nova com uma boa camada de tinta branca e um novo abajour azul, mais pequeno!

I inherited this lamp from my godmother, who remembers buying it in Oporto with her mother, on the 1970's. The lampshade was really large, which made it hard to lean against the wall, and was also pretty damaged. Now it got a new life with a good layer of white paint and a new blue smaller lampshade!

Este é um daqueles projectos há muito adiados... A caixa com divisórias foi encontrada numa loja de móveis em 2ª mão, e pensámos pintar o exterior de branco e forrar cada prateleira com papel de parede. Este plano acabou por se revelar um pouco complicado e o efeito seria diluído pelo facto de as divisórias ficarem tapadas no final. Na semana passada decidi finalmente deitar mãos à obra e passar a um plano B bem mais simples, que consistiu em pintar apenas de branco as divisórias, e manter a caixa com a cor original, para um toque vintage. Acabou por resultar bastante bem!

This is one of those projects that I have been delaying forever... We found this wooden slotted box at a second hand store, and thought of painting the outside frame on white and cover each shelf with wallpaper. This plan turned out to be a little tricky and the effect would be diluted by the fact that the shelves would be hidden in the end. Last week, I finally decided to finish this and chose a much simpler plan B, which consisted of white paint on the shelves, and leaving the outside box untouched, with its vintage look. It turned out to work just fine!
